typography, environmental design, exhibition design
In collaboration with a team of designers, we were given the challenge to use typography in 3D form to connect location, audience, and message.
Shown in the Brown Building at the Maryland Institute College of Art, we used growth as a theme to engage the everyday viewer consisting of students, artists, and faculty. We gathered materials from recycling areas in the building to fill the letterforms which were put into place with painter's tape. Juxtaposing both physical growth and mental growth creating organic form and plant-like vines on a concrete structure, we aimed to challenge how the viewer engages with the space.
